The tune was unique, unlike anything he had ever played by the best
composers. The clarinet had such a good sound, hard to replicate and
find fault with. The one thing that struck him the most was the amount
of passion, feeling and heart put into this one tune. it was rare to
find a musician that put so much into their playing.
Deciding that
he had to meet the player to open a whole new world of music to them,
he slipped through the door as silently as he could and stood at the
back of the hall, watching the player sway slightly, eyes closed,
whispering and caressing the music out of her clarinet. She was so
unaware of everything around her, not even caring that she had an
extremely cute expression on her face.
The tune slowed, gradually
stopping. She opened her eyes and stared straight at him. She stepped
back, turning away and taking the instrument apart. A soft pink colour
tinted her cheeks, showing her embarressment. He stepped toward the
stage, realising that she was going to leave without speaking to him.
"Hey!
Can we talk before you run off?" He didn't want her to leave, not
without speaking to her. She paused, closing the case and tilting her
head to the side. Then she turned to him. He smiled and walked up to the
stage.
"I'm Nathaniel Georges. Nice to meet you." He offered his
hand, which she reluctantly took. Up close, she looked stunning. Her
eyes were shy, her skin was pale and her dark hair fell freely past her
shoulders.
"I know. You're the guy that managed to become famous
for playing piano at the age of ten, and have made a name for yourself
sine, along with a fortune. I'm Claire." She smiled slightly with
admiration in her eyes. He returned the smile.
"You play clarinet
really well. I doubt I've heard anyone play as well as you just did."
She blushed more at this statement. Somehow, after that statement, the
conversation staired away from music and on to personal lives. Nathaniel
was fascinated by her story and she listened intently to his. For weeks
after, they met up in the hall and played for each other.
One
day, she played the last few notes of a tune as he stepped closer to
her. When she finally opened her eyes, he plied the clarinet out of her
hands and set it down carefully. He turned back to her, tilted her chin
up and kissed her. It was gentle at first, but when she returned it,
little by little, it became more passionate. She put her arms around his
neck as he pulled her closer to him by the waist.
Their
relationship lasted for years. No one objected to their love and
eventually, in their early twenties, they got married. The wedding was
one of the biggest events that year, being in every magazine and
newspaper.
The rest of their lives was just like a fairytale,
Prince Charming never leaving his princess and living in a palace like
mansion.
