What Is Love?

Love to me is almost indescribable. Love is a hard word to truly give a definition to. Think about the word love and what it truly means to you, it shouldn't mean sex or a mere physical bond. Love should be an emotional bond between a couple that shows each person in the relationship that they are special and that they matter. Love is something that shows others that no matter what they do or say you will stick with them. Love is something that, if it is truly there, you can look past the other persons flaws or even be blind to them due to their strengths. Love is something that should be forever.

Someone once said diamonds are the only thing that will last forever. I respectfully disagree with what this person said. If true love enters your life it will outlast a diamond. An interesting bit of information is that the reason there is a diamond in a wedding ring is to symbolize that this bond between the couple WILL last forever. If what I said wasn't true about true love then why would the go through the expense and trouble of getting a diamond. If you want love to live, it will live. The minute you show your back to love or doubt it is there, it will start to die.

Love is an emotion that everyone, no matter how twisted or screwed up in the head, has at one point in their lives. I would like to believe that everyone loves their parents, which I know isn't true, but if that isn't where you feel love you will feel it towards someone or something else.

I post this because I think the true meaning of love is lost. I think that "love" in the eyes of most people (especially my age bracket) is not what love was meant to be. Love to most anymore means a mere physical bond, whether that be with each other constantly or whether it be sex. People think that this is what love truly is and it saddens my heart to know that people honestly believe this. I understand not why anyone would feel like love is merely physical. I digress....I asked what you think love is, and now I would love to here everyone's opinion on it.
